Dr. Larissa Noury Brings “The Colors of the Future” to Tokyo’s Ginza Six

In the heart of Tokyo’s dazzling Ginza district, where tradition meets luxury, Larissa Noury—renowned French Belarusian-born artist and architect-colourist—unveiled her second solo exhibition at the “Vent” gallery from September 8 to 17, 2025.

Dr. Larissa Noury continues to bridge cultures through her vibrant vision.

Her exhibition, themed “The Colors of the Future: New French Impressionism and the Traditions of Japan,” was part of the Universal Exposition in Osaka, celebrating the art of tomorrow.

Curated by Ms. Reibibbri Yamakawa, the show highlighted Noury’s deep connection with Japan, where she previously represented France at the 2015 ICA World Congress and again in 2024 with her debut solo at Ginza Six. In a district once famed as the world’s most expensive shopping haven, her colours now speak of harmony, innovation and shared futures.

Curator Ms. Reibibbri Yamakawa spoke with quiet awe about Dr. Larissa Noury’s exhibition, praising the artist’s boundless energy and visionary spirit. She described how Larissa’s work blended soft Impressionist strokes with the delicate strength of traditional Japanese Washi paper, creating a bridge between heritage and innovation. The paintings didn’t just speak—they could be felt. With textures that echoed the rhythm of fashion and form, Larissa introduced the idea of five-dimensional colors: hues that move, breathe, and respond.

“These,” Ms. Reibibbri Yamakawa said, “are the colors of the future—alive in their depth, rich in their layers, and endlessly multidimensional.”

Dr. Larissa Noury’s paintings invite us to feel color—not just see it. Through layered textures, shifting light and the delicate transparency of washi paper, she creates a five-dimensional experience where time, touch and perception unfold uniquely for each viewer, shared Ms. Reibibbri Yamakawa, Curator.

With the support of Couleur-Espace-Culture in Paris, the Vent gallery in Ginza, and the Reibibbri Yamakawa Atelier in Hachioji, Dr. Larissa Noury shared her vibrant journey through exhibitions and lectures in Tokyo.

Her acclaimed books—Color in the City and Symbolic. The City in Color—have resonated across France and beyond. Her latest work, The World of Colors. Art and Haute Couture, along with the award-winning collection of painted dresses Tableaux vivants, created with Jean-Marie Pujol, captivated the Tokyo audience with elegance and innovation.

“When the light shines from behind the artwork, Larissa Noury’s ‘5D tactile color’ comes alive—magnificent. Enjoy it,” said Gallery Director Sir Hiroshi Inoue.

At Gallery Vent, visitors stood spellbound. Washi paper shimmered with luminous layers, each stroke a whisper of emotion.

From Mount Fuji’s glow to the deep blues of sea and sky, her five-dimensional art sparked joy and wonder—bridging French innovation with Japanese tradition in every brushstroke.
