A Legacy of Sound and Soul
Ashvini Modak’s musical journey began at home, nurtured by her mother Smt. Latika V. Vyaghrambare, a respected classical vocalist. Her artistic roots run deep—her grandfather, late P.G. Sukhatme, was a celebrated figure in Marathi theatre. This rich heritage shaped Ashvini’s early love for the arts.
She trained under sitar maestro Pandit Bimlendu Mukherjee of the Imdadkhani Gharana, and later, under the legendary Padmavibhushan Dr. Prabha Atre of the Kirana Gharana. For twenty four years, Ashvini has refined her craft under Dr. Prabha Atre’s guidance, embracing the depth and subtlety of Hindustani classical music.
Recognized as a ‘B High’ grade artist by All India Radio, Pune and empaneled by SPIC MACAY and ICCR, Ashvini Modak also holds a Junior Research Fellowship from CCRT. Her journey reflects not just talent, but a lifelong devotion to the art of music.

Ashvini Modak, a celebrated musician, carries a rare blend of artistry and intellect— with a Master of Music and Gold medalist from Khairagarh University and a Sangeet Visharad from Gandharv Mandal, Miraj, shines alongside her sharp mind as an Electrical Engineer, marking her journey as rich and vibrant as her music.
As a dedicated teacher, Ashvini Modak runs her own music academy, guiding students from India and abroad in Hindustani classical vocal music. She also offers online training, making her art accessible across borders. As a faculty member at Swarmayee Gurukul under Dr. Prabha Atre Foundation, and conducting lecture -demonstrations, workshops on classical and semi-classical forms like Thumri and Dadra, Ashvini Modak continues to share her knowledge with grace and generosity.

From winning top honors in national competitions like Akhil Bhartiya Akashwani and SCZCC, to receiving prestigious awards such as the Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki Yuva Gayak Puraskar and Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar, her achievements speak of consistent excellence and deep-rooted artistry.
Her stage presence has graced iconic festivals across India and abroad—from Khajuraho and Haridas Sammelan to Budapest’s Trafo House of Contemporary Arts.
Whether performing at revered venues like NCPA Mumbai or in soulful gatherings like Naad Nirajanam in Tirupati, Kirana Sangeet Gurukul by Arya Prasarak Mandal in Pune, Krishnaprabha Program on compositions of Swaryogini Prabha Atre, Sawai Gandharwa Bhimsen Mahotsawa 2024 in Pune, and many more, Ashvini Modak’s voice has touched hearts far and wide.
