GRASSROOTS CHANGEMAKERS UNITE FOR COW CARE AND CONSERVATION

Celebrating National Wildlife Day 2025: A Gentle Step Toward Animal Welfare

This 17th August, the sacred grounds of Shree Krishna Balaji Gouchiktsalay, Jodhpur, will host a heartfelt initiative led by Neeharika Sinha Roy, Secretariat Member of Team Social Impact, IIMUN.

Young changemakers from the IIMUN MUN Club will come together to mark National Wildlife Day with compassion and purpose. The event will feature a dedicated health check-up for cows, conducted by Dr. Bhagraj Godara, a respected veterinarian from Jodhpur—honoring the gentle lives that often go unnoticed in conversations about wildlife.

A Voice of Kindness: The Heart Behind the Shelter

As part of the celebration, the event will feature a brief yet deeply moving interview with the shelter’s owner—a moment that promises to reveal the soul of the space. Their story is one of quiet strength, built on years of dedication, love, and unwavering belief in the power of compassion.

From humble beginnings to a growing sanctuary of care, the owner will share their journey, vision and hopes for the future—offering a glimpse into how one person’s purpose can ripple through a community.

This intimate conversation will not only highlight the shelter’s mission but also inspire others to see animal welfare as a shared responsibility. It’s a story where empathy leads, and every act of kindness becomes a step toward a more caring world.

Honouring Animal Welfare in Kolkata Spotlighting Compassion

In parallel, a special celebration is planned at a local cow shelter in Kolkata, where compassion takes center stage.

On 24th August 2025, from 2 PM onwards, Garia Niramoy Foundation, Kolkata will host a heartfelt tribute to National Wildlife Day.

This intimate gathering welcomes storytellers, platforms and changemakers to honour the quiet champions of animal welfare—those who nurture with tenderness and act with unwavering resolve. These grassroots efforts reflect a growing movement—where youth, empathy and action converge to protect and nurture the lives that share our world.

Uniting the World, the Indian Way: The IIMUN Vision

India’s International Movement to Unite Nations (IIMUN) is more than just a platform—it’s a movement of hope, action and unity. It’s about turning thought into action, and conversation into change.

Rooted in Indian values and driven by global aspirations, IIMUN nurtures a generation of global citizens—young changemakers who transcend classroom debates to engage with the world’s most pressing challenges. Through immersive MUN experiences, leadership journeys, literary festivals, and grassroots impact projects supporting marginalized communities through monthly initiatives, it empowers youth to think deeply, lead ethically, and act meaningfully.

This is not just education—it’s a movement toward mindful, mission-driven transformation.

As the world’s largest youth-run non-profit, IIMUN has created a space where tomorrow’s leaders begin shaping the future today. From local initiatives to global forums, including historic MUN conferences inside the United Nations Headquarters in New York, this movement proves that age is no barrier to impact. It’s a call to build a borderless world, where empathy, courage and collaboration lead the way.

From Thought to Torchbearers: The Journey of IIMUN

In 2011, a quiet idea took root—a vision to build one world, not through power, but through principle. India’s International Movement to Unite Nations (IIMUN) began with a dream to replace elitist, anglicized thinking with the timeless wisdom of Gandhi, Tagore and the Vedic age. It was a call to awaken young minds, not just to global issues, but to the soul of India—a philosophy of unity, equality and purpose.

Today, that idea has grown into a vibrant movement, reaching over 7500 schools, but carrying India in thought.

Guided by founder Rishabh Shah and visionaries like Shashi Tharoor, PT Usha, Amitabh Bachchan, and global luminaries from the UN, government, industry, cinema, sports and academia, IIMUN has grown into the world’s largest youth-led non-profit—hosting impactful conferences across 220 cities and 34 countries.

It is, perhaps, the most fitting time for India’s International Movement to Unite Nations—to rise not just in annual events, but in everyday action, carried forward by the torchbearers of tomorrow.
