Azadi Ke Mahanayak: A Tribute of Dance and Devotion on India’s 79th Independence Day
On 12th August 2025 at 6 P.M, the Satyagraha Mandap at Gandhi Darshan, Raj Ghat, New Delhi, will come alive with Azadi Ke Mahanayak—a soul-stirring celebration of India’s freedom fighters through movement, music and memory.
In a powerful confluence of artistry and tribute, Azadi Ke Mahanayak unfolds under the graceful direction of internationally acclaimed Kathak maestro Dr. Rekha Mehra, Founder and Director of Urvashi Dance Music Art & Cultural Society, New Delhi.
Choreographed by Ajay Bhatt with spirited assistance from Abhishek, and jointly organized by Urvashi Dance Music Art & Cultural Society, Tapasya Foundation and Gandhi Darshan, the performance promises a tapestry of movement, emotion and patriotic fervor—honoring the spirit of freedom through classical resonance and contemporary vision.
With the ceremonial inauguration by Hon. Chief Guest Shri Kapil Mishra, Cabinet Minister, Government of India, Azadi Ke Mahanayak begins its radiant journey—an evening steeped in reverence and rhythm.
As dignitaries including Hon. Shri Anil Sharma, M.L.A, Delhi, and Shri Vijay Goel, Vice Chairman of Gandhi Smriti & Darshan Samiti, grace the occasion, the celebration evolves into a poetic homage.
