Cradled in the verdant embrace of Assam’s Borail Range, Dr. Amrita Dutta was born into a lineage steeped in musical brilliance. In the quiet town of Silchar, where every breeze carries a rhythm and every leaf hums a tune, she absorbed the essence of music with her very first breath. Her early life, surrounded by nature’s symphony and familial harmonies, laid the foundation for a journey that would echo far beyond the valley.
Amrita Dutta studied for a Master Degree in Vocal Classical Music (Kheyal) from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata in 2007 securing First Class. Her academic urge in music attracted her to Delhi University from where she has completed M.Phil in Vocal Music (Kheyal). Then she completed PhD in Vocal Music from the University of Delhi under Late Dr. Prateek Chaudhury in 2019.
