“The theme of my painting is the ‘Jiva-Chakra’, the cycle of revisiting souls, which essentially, lives in the continuity of ‘atma’ even after death. Jiva Chakra was conceived 15 years back and worked upon the basis of the ‘Vedantic spiritual Tenets of Space’, ‘Time and Causation’ that is applicable to universal life. ‘Jiva’ in the literal sense means a ‘living being’ or the ‘Individual Soul’, which is in essence one with the Universal Soul. ‘Chakra’ being the instrument of the artist which is used in a relative symbolism to the grinding wheel of existence meant for every man-made, soul structured cycle of life. ‘Chakra’ as a symbolic content has several meanings for life, but the chief one being that of the available formats of ‘Time’ and ‘Space, gifted to life and every individual by the love of the Divine,” says the artist Dipankar Mani.
Artist Dipankar Mani has studied for a diploma in Visual Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata and is a Gold Medalist.
