VUKADINOVIĆ Sombor 2025: A Global Canvas of Culture, Nature and Art in Serbia
In the heart of Sombor, Serbia, VUKADINOVIĆ Sombor 2025 unfolded as a grand celebration of art and heritage, marking its 20th glorious edition.
This international symposium brought together 23 acclaimed artists from across Europe and Asia, weaving cultural threads into a week of creativity and discovery. Against the backdrop of Sombor’s architectural beauty, artists painted their impressions—drawing inspiration from historic monuments, natural landscapes and Serbia’s largest painting, the majestic “Battle of Senta.”
“ We invited famous professional artists from different countries: France, Italy, Hungary, Armenia, Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Uzbekistan, Rumania, Moldavia, along with participation of some famous Serbian artists to take part in our 20th jubilee art forum. It is a great honor to invite the prominent artist Larissa Nоury to the “Vukadinović” symposium to share her art experience and unique technique,” remarked Georgi Vukadinovic, the founder and organizer of this unique event.
With exhibitions, media coverage and future showcases planned across participating nations, this gathering became more than an event—it became a vibrant ode to unity through art.
Sombor’s Artistic Soul: Where Nature, Heritage and Creativity Converge
In the vibrant setting of Sombor 2025, the international art symposium became a living dialogue between past and present, nature and culture. Artists from around the world gathered not only to create but to connect—with each other and with the storied beauty of Serbia. Their works reflected a harmony of styles and voices, inspired by the country’s rich architectural heritage and the wonders of the natural world. A highlight of their journey was the awe-inspiring visit to the majestic “Battle of Senta” by Ferenc Eisenhut —Serbia’s largest oil painting, stretching 40 square meters across the town hall walls. Framed like a masterpiece in itself, the artwork echoed the grandeur of history and became a symbol of creative reverence that defined the spirit of the symposium.
From Inspiration to Canvas: Sombor’s Story through Artistic Eyes
Throughout an enriching week in Sombor, artists immersed themselves in the city’s cultural gems—from the expressive halls of the Milan Konjovic and KC Laza Kostić galleries to the quiet charm of the Podunavski Švaba Museum and the dreamy pink waters of Termalna Banja Pacir. Their journey unfolded into a vibrant collection of multi-media artworks, capturing the essence of Serbian heritage, architecture and nature. This shared vision culminated in a remarkable open-air exhibition at the city’s heart, graced by dignitaries and delighted citizens. Among the celebrated works, renowned artist Larissa Noury unveiled her moving diptychs—“Colours of Serbia” and “Paris by Night”—echoes of cross-cultural inspiration woven in paint and soul.
A Joyful Finale in Belgrade: Art, Culture and Celebration
After the final brushstrokes had been admired under the open sky of Sombor, the artists embarked on a heartfelt journey to Serbia’s capital, Belgrade. Wandering through the grand halls of the Church of Saint Sava, the storied paths of Kalemegdan, and the galleries that guard centuries of Serbian creativity, they found inspiration in every corner. As dusk fell, the symposium closed on a graceful note—with folkloric music, artist introductions, and the warm presentation of participation certificates. It was more than a farewell—it was a shared memory wrapped in melody and meaning.
Harmony of Cultures: A Painter’s Reflections from Sombor to Belgrade
Among the voices that echoed with heartfelt gratitude at VUKADINOVIĆ Sombor 2025, artist Larissa Noury stood out with a poetic sentiment. She spoke of joy in connecting with fellow creators of remarkable talent and offered deep thanks to the organizers for their thoughtful hospitality. Particularly moving to her was the visit to the Saint Sava Cathedral in Belgrade—a place, she said, where shapes and colors hold together as if by an inexplicable magic, radiating harmony and spiritual strength. Her reflections became a mirror of the symposium itself: a celebration of beauty, identity and shared inspiration.
“VUKADINOVIC Sombor 2025” for culture and art will contribute to the promotion of the concept of cultural dialogues for the strengthening of Serbian and global cultural identity by highlighting their capacity to create and innovate.
