VB‑G RAM G Act, 2025: Guaranteeing Dignity and Livelihoods
The Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) [VB‑G RAM G] Act, 2025 has now come into force across the nation, granting every eligible rural household a statutory right to 125 days of wage employment. With revised wage rates, no notified daily wage will fall below ₹300, lifting the national average to ₹327.4 per day—an enhancement of more than ten percent.
To mark this historic rollout, a National Launch Programme will be held on 2 July 2026 in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, attended by Union Minister for Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The event will feature the distribution of Rural Employment Guarantee Cards, the launch of the VB‑G RAM G software platform, release of key publications, and interactions with beneficiaries.
“The VB‑G RAM G Act is a transformative initiative that ushers in a new era of dignity, self‑respect and livelihood security for millions of rural workers,” declared Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
“All eligible rural families will now have a statutory right to 125 days of employment instead of 100. Our highest priority is to ensure that no rural worker is deprived of employment even for a single day.”
He further emphasized:
“This Act will create new livelihood opportunities in villages, accelerate the creation of durable assets, strengthen women’s empowerment, and give fresh momentum to the vision of an Atmanirbhar and Viksit Rural India. I call upon all citizens to become partners in building prosperous, empowered, and self‑reliant villages.”
