NO MAJOR RELAXATIONS

Ministry of Home Affairs announced guidelines for the second phase of unlock, Unlock 2, allowing free movement of persons and goods on National and State Highways throughout the country. Loading and unloading of cargo and movement of persons to their destinations will be freely allowed after getting down from trains and buses without any pass or certificates. Training institutions of the central and state governments will be started from July 15  and standard operating procedures (SOP) will be issued. All schools, colleges and coaching institutions will remain closed till July 31. Opening of international air travel will be started in a calibrated manner. The night curfew was relaxed and shall be in force from 10 pm to 5 am.

The restrictions will be strictly enforced in containment zones.  All other services such as Metro rail services, theatres, parks, assembly halls, swimming pools, gyms, bars will continue to remain closed till July 31. All gatherings of religious, political and social will remain prohibited. There are no major relaxations outside the containment zones in Unlock 2 phase between July 1 and July 31.

In Kerala, state government has relaxed the timings in night curfew by one hour following the guidelines of the central government.  Now the retailers and take away restaurant owners can open up to 10 pm but not more than five people would be allowed inside a shop at a time.

However, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Manipur extended lock down till July 31 without any relaxations.
