Thiksey Monastery Ladakh: A Peaceful Himalayan Retreat of Tibetan Buddhism

Thiksey Monastery,  rising gracefully on a hilltop near Leh in Ladakh, is a 12-story marvel that mirrors the grandeur of Lhasa’s Potala Palace. Established in the 15th century, this Gelugpa Buddhist monastery is a sanctuary of peace, art and devotion.
