Talented Wahane Sisters & Hindustani Classical Vocalist Nirali Kartik’s exceptional rendition captivated audience at Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi.

Pracheen Kala Kendra Presented the 23rd Quarterly Baithak as Part of the ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Series at Triveni Kala Sangam @ 6.30 PM on Saturday 2 March 2024.

Hindustani Classical vocalist Nirali Kartik accompanied by Shri. Zaheen Khan on Tabla and Shri. Sumit Mishra on Harmonium mesmerised the audience with her gifted exceptional and resonating voice as part of the ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Series encouraging and promoting young talents, inspiring the rich traditions of Indian music across the country.

Captivating synergy of Sitar and Santoor with the talented Wahane Sisters, Sanskrati Wahane and Prakrati Wahane, accompanied by Shri. Zuheb Ahmed Khan on Tabla marked the event as a celebration of India’s rich musical heritage and a testament to Pracheen Kala Kendra’s commitment to nurturing talent and promoting Classical arts. 

Nirali Kartik, recipient of Shreshtha Sadhak Award by Gujarat Sangeet Natak Academy and Guru Gangadhar Pradhan Award, is the founder and lead vocalist of Maati Baani, a fusion project of various styles of folk and new age sounds, has been instrumental in promoting young generations in interweaving classical and folk music across the globe.

Nirali Kartik’s journey in Hindustani music began when her music loving mother took her to Saptak Music School in Ahmedabad where shri P.G. Shinde taught her the basics of classical music and learnt Khayal Gayaki from Shri Vikas Parikh. She is now pursuing further learning in khayal from Mewati Gharana maestro Pandit Sanjeev Abhyankarji.

Adding a feather to her cap, Nirali is associated with Taj Ki Nayi Awaz and has featured in the national campaign of Taj Mahal Tea which is currently on air. Her recently released classical music album ‘NAVYAA’ has garnered a lot of love and appreciation from music lovers now.

Young talented Wahane Sisters, Sanskrati Wahane and Prakrati Wahane, mesmerised the audience by their exceptional Sitar and Santoor Jugalbandi.

Along with being a graded artist of All India Radio, the talented artists performed in various platforms in the country and also represented in National Youth Festival 2018 and 2019. The Wahane sisters performed their Jugalbandi at the prestigious Darbar Festival, London 2022.

Established in 1956, Pracheen Kala Kendra is one of the oldest, premier and prestigious organizations of the country dedicated to promotion, preservation and dissemination of Indian Classical arts.  Pracheen Kala Kendra is a well- known institution imparting quality education and training under ancient Gurukul-parampara in the subjects of Indian Classical music including Carnatic Music (Vocal & Instrumental), classical dances (Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Odissi Dance, etc.) and Fine Arts (Painting) now.
