“Every year ANANDADHARA organized many programmes including Bengali New Year celebrations, Rabindra Jayanti, World Music Day celebrations, Dol Utsav, Christmas, Independence Day celebrations, Valentine’s Day, Vivekananda Birthday celebrations, Rakhi Festival, Environment Day, Children’s Day celebrations participating people in the Bengal’s Doors Side Village area during Covid pandemic period. These remote lesser-heard hilly hamlets of lush green tea gardens, towering Himalayan mountain ranges and several national parks, a gateway to the hill towns of Darjeeling and many hill towns of Northeast are at a distance of more than 200 Kms from Siliguri, my native place.
I tried to teach the children in this area. I moved to these areas – Nagrakata Luksan Tea Garden, Keran Tea Garden, Grassmari Special Primary School in Gorumara Forest Budhuram tribal areas to teach them. I tried to cover the Malbazar and Odlabari area, most of the Dooars areas and contacted children and involved them in studying music,” says Anindita Chatterjee, talented Rabindra Sangeet Singer and social activist.
