SWAROTSAV: A Celebration of Hindustani Classical Music in New Delhi

Swarotsav – A Symphony of Masters 

The Sumadhur Hansadhwani Trust, in collaboration with Shriram Millennium School, presents Swarotsav—an evening where the timeless grandeur of Indian classical music unfolds in all its splendor. On 21st March, Saturday, from 5 PM onwards, the halls of Shriram Millennium School, Sector-81, Faridabad, will transform into a sanctum of resonance.

The program begins with Padma Shri and SNA awardee Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, whose artistry carries the lineage of Guru Bahadur Khan and Ali Akbar Khan. A modern exponent of the sarod, his presence graces prestigious festivals across India and the world. His performance, profound and meditative, will be elevated by the rhythmic brilliance of Shubh Maharaj on tabla, creating a dialogue of melody and rhythm that is both majestic and intimate. Together, they promise a recital that resonates with the depth of tradition and the fire of improvisation.

Following this, the stage will welcome the soulful Dr. Nabanita Chowdhary, whose vocal artistry carries the fragrance of devotion and the precision of classical discipline. She will be accompanied by the gifted Shri Suman Chatterjee on tabla and the evocative Shri Sumit Mishra on harmonium, weaving a tapestry of sound that speaks directly to the heart.

Dr. Nabamita Chowdhury’s musical odyssey reflects the guidance of luminaries—Padma Bhushan Pandits Rajan and Sajan Misra, Vidushi Shobha Gurtu, and Pandit Deepak Chatterjee ‘Rasik Rang’. Her voice, steeped in tradition yet alive with contemporary resonance, has carried the spirit of Hindustani classical music across continents.

The evening also unfolds evocative vocal renditions by Dr. Neepa Chowdhury and Shri Hetartho Chatterjeesenior disciples of Vidushi Sumitra Guhawhose voices embody devotion and depth. 

Together, these artists promise not merely a concert, but an immersive voyage into the timeless beauty of Indian classical music.

Anchored by the renowned Senior Musicologist  Pandit Vijay Shankar Mishra, the evening will be a confluence of artistry, devotion and cultural celebration.
