Suresh Koothuparamba, renowned artist and sculptor, conducted several exhibitions at prestigious art galleries all over India and abroad including Herman Hesse Painting Exhibition in Germany and Al-Bida Gallery, Doha.
He had won many awards and participated in several art camps.
Suresh Koothuparamba was the Vice Chairman of the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi and conducted several shows that promoted culture, paintings and visual arts in the state.
He portrayed many social issues with bold messages through his canvass.
The huge frames make explicit statements that convey the boldness of women in our society who ‘lifts the mountain’ and who ‘holds the sharp sickle’ to harvest the paddy that still reminds the social impact that communicates to the society.
These pandemic days perhaps note down the warning he has given two decades ago through his work ‘oxygen cylinder’.
Suresh’s three paintings, “This Land belongs to Everyone”, “Varanasi” and “Previous Moments” are on show at the ‘Lokame Tharavadu‘ Exhibition in Alappuzha organised by the Kochi Biennale Foundation with the support of the Government of Kerala.
The prestigious show features the works of 267 eminent artists nationally and internationally who trace their roots back to Kerala to revive and resurrect the human spirit during these times of pandemic.
“ആശയഭാഷയുടെ സുതാര്യതയാണ് എൻ്റെ ചിത്രങ്ങൾ. രേഖകൾ കൈപ്പിടിയിൽ ഒതുക്കി വർണ്ണത്തിൻ്റെ അനന്ത സാദ്ധ്യതയുടെ പരീക്ഷണങ്ങളാണ് ഏറേയും. മനുഷ്യനെ സുന്ദരനാക്കുകയോ പ്രകൃതിയെ ഏറെ സുന്ദരിയാക്കുകയോ അല്ല ഞാൻ ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ലാവണ്യവും വൈരൂപ്യവും ഒന്നാണെന്ന ആത്മീയതയുടെ അദ്വൈതതല സ്പർശിയായ അന്വേഷണമാണ് എൻ്റെ ചിത്രങ്ങൾ. കാൽപനിക ഭാവം സംവേദനം ചെയ്യുന്ന എൻ്റെ ചിത്രങ്ങളിൽ സ്ത്രീ രൂപങ്ങൾ പ്രകൃതി തന്നെയായി മാറുന്നു. പ്രകൃതിയുടെ ഭാവം തന്നെയാണ് അവൾക്കും. നിറങ്ങളുടെ സങ്കലനത്തിൽ കേരളത്തിൻ്റെ പച്ചപ്പുകൾ എന്നെ വല്ലാതെ സ്വാധീനിക്കാറുണ്ട്. വർണ്ണങ്ങളുടെ മേളനത്തിലൂടെ അപൂർണരൂപങ്ങൾ കാഴ്ചക്കാരൻ്റെ ചിന്തയിൽ പൂർണമാകാൻ പാകപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന രീതിയാണ് ഞാൻ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്. ചിത്രങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും കാഴ്ചക്കപ്പുറത്തേക്ക് കടക്കുന്ന ഉൾകാഴ്ചയായി അത് പരിണമിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഇക്കോളജിയും ഫെമിനിസവും ഒന്നായിത്തീരുന്ന കാഴ്ച എൻ്റെ ചിത്രങ്ങളിൽ ദർശിക്കാം”.
