Prepare to be mesmerized as the enchanting world of Kathak dance merges with the mystical essence of Sufi music in an upcoming cultural xtravaganza, says Kathak Maestro Rini Malaviya in a press release.

Kathak Maestro Rini Malaviya also said that this unique performance celebrates the rich heritage of Kathak and the transcendental power of Sufi traditions and it’s an annual festival of an organisation which she founded in the year 2002.

“Set to grace the stage on 11 August 2023, this highly anticipated event promises to captivate audiences with its seamless fusion of rhythmic footwork, delicate hand gestures and soul-stirring performances. From intricate spins to emotive expressions, this unique performance celebrates the rich heritage of Kathak and the transcendental power of Sufi traditions,” she added.

Kathak maestro Rini Malaviya started her Kathak journey at the age of 5 and gave her first solo performance on Lucknow Doordarshan at the age of 7.

Rini Malaviya was awarded the prestigious Alankar in Kathak Dance and Tabla from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai.

Kathak maestro Rini Malaviya founded Rini’s Music and Dance School in 2002. More than 1,500 students aged 3 to 60 have been part of this prestigious institution, many have graduated in Kathak dance and  participated in dance shows and reality shows.
