SHRI MATA VAISHNO DEVI SHRINE
Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha has launched a Mobile App for the devotees of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi with facilities including live darshan at the holy cave shrine during the Navratri festival starting on 17 October, 2020. Online yatra registration will be available to the devotees in the App.
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has raised the limit of pilgrims to be allowed to visit the Shrine from 5000 to 7000 per day from 15 October, 2020 considering the Navratri festival during the month. The registration of pilgrims will be done online to avoid gathering at the registration Counters during the pandemic.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Board informed that all accomodation facilities are open for the pilgrims following strict Covid-19 guidelines. Community Kitchen facilities, battery operated vehicles, passenger ropeway and helicopter services are also available during the festival.
A pilgrimage to the Holy Shrine is considered to be one of the holiest pilgrimages and attracts millions of devotees every year.
The Holy cave of the Mata Vaishno Devi is situated at an altitude of 5200 ft in the folds of three mountains known as Trikuta, in Jammu and Kashmir.
Katra, a small town 50 Km away from Jammu serves as the base camp for the Holy Shrine. From the base camp, one has to take nearly13 Km arduous mountain journey to reach the Holy Shrine.
All facilities and arrangements were provided to the devotees by the Shrine Board constituted since 1986.

Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine has been decorated with flowers and bhajans will be performed at the Vaishno Devi Darbar during the nine day celebrations.
