Sabrang Classical Music Concert 2026: A Gala Evening Honoring Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Sahab
In the cultural heart of Kolkata, where tradition and timeless artistry converge, the Sabrang Classical Music Concert 2026 promises an evening of unparalleled splendor. This Gala Evening is dedicated to celebrating the immortal legacy of Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Sahab, while nurturing the voices and talents of the next generation—guided by senior maestros and enriched by the vibrant participation of young students.
Organized by Patuli Sreerampore North Sabrang, the concert will unfold on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the iconic Mahanayak Uttam Mancha, from 4 pm to 9 pm. Audiences will be immersed in a constellation of performances by internationally acclaimed maestros, eminent stalwarts, renowned contemporary artists, and promising talents, each weaving their own tapestry of rhythm and melody.
A Sacred Prelude to Sabrang 2026
THE SABRANG CLASSICAL MUSIC CONCERT WILL BE CEREMONIOUSLY INAUGURATED BY SWAMI SUPRANANANDA JI MAHARAJ, SECRETARY OF THE GOLPARK RAMKRISHNA MISSION, WHOSE PRESENCE LENDS A SPIRITUAL AURA TO THIS GRAND CELEBRATION OF TRADITION AND ARTISTRY.
SABRANG CLASSICAL MUSIC CONCERT – 2026 unfolds as a soulful celebration of tradition and talent. The evening begins with special performances by young voices, a vibrant Indian Classical Vocal Ensemble led by the students of Smt. Soumi Majumdar, will bring fresh voices to the stage—Ananya Maity, Antarag Mandal, Abantika Ghosh, and Ree Purkait —accompanied by Shri Pritam Polley on tabla and Shri Suraj Sharma on harmonium.
This is followed by a graceful vocal recital by Smt. Manjima Maitra, and then the grandeur of Hindustani vocal artistry presented by the renowned Smt. Soumi Majumdar—disciple of Ustad Raza Ali Khan—supported by Pandit Subhen Chatterjee on tabla and Shri Anirban Chakrabarty on harmonium.
The concert further shines with the deep resonance of a Sarod recital by Shri Shiraz Ali Khan with Pandit Samar Saha, and culminates in the brilliance of a tabla solo by Padma Shri Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri, accompanied by Pandit Hiranmay Mitra.
