Ritachhanda Festival 2026: A Celebration of Young Talent and Timeless Traditions
On January 31st, the stage at Uttam Mancha, Kolkata, will glow with youthful energy and classical grace as the 12th Ritachhanda Festival unfolds.
Organized by SNB Foundation in association with Omkarnath Mission Parampara, this evening of music and recognition begins at 5:05 PM, spotlighting emerging artists whose voices and rhythms echo the spirit of tradition.
The evening unfolds with grace at 5:00 PM, beginning with the Inauguration and Lighting of the Lamp—a moment of quiet reverence before the stage comes alive. At 5:05 PM, young talents take the spotlight, sharing their promise and passion, followed by a heartfelt prize distribution.
As twilight deepens, the festival blossoms into a rich tapestry of classical artistry: at 6:00 PM, Kaushik Bhattacharyya’s soulful vocal recital, with Sayan Chatterjee on harmonium and Ujjwal Bharati on tabla, sets a meditative tone. At 7:00 PM, an exquisite Instrumental Ensemble follows, led by Sandip Chatterjee on santoor, joined by Subhasis Bhattacharya on tabla and Somnath Roy on ghatam—each note a tribute to India’s timeless musical heritage.
The festival reaches its graceful finale at 8:00 PM with a Bharatanatyam performance by Samrat Dutta and Shantanu, a visual symphony of rhythm and devotion that crowns the evening.
True to its spirit, the RITACHHANDA Festival shines a light on young voices and fresh talent, with emerging artistes like Souparno Ghosh, Pratibhas Haldar, Shounak Majumder, Enakshi Paik, Anuran Samaddar, Anukalpa Lahiri, Prakriti Paul, Parimal Mondal, Sohag Chakraborty, Arpan Guha, Mayukh Chakraborty, Sanglap Chakraborty, Arghyadeep Debnath, Bhuvnyu Ghosal, Shibashis Lahiri, and Anik Das adding their unique hues to the celebration.
