Rooted in scholarship and artistry alike, Rahul’s academic path — a Master’s in History from Rabindra Bharati University and a Diploma in Elementary Education — mirrors his dance’s balance of intellect and intuition. Workshops with luminaries like Guru Ratikant Mohapatra, Aloka Kanungo, and Poushali Mukherjee & Kaustavi Sarkar have deepened his vocabulary, while explorations in yoga and contemporary dance have expanded his horizons. On stage, Rahul Roy’s artistry unfolds like a living prayer — whether in duet or solo, his Odissi carries the fragrance of devotion and discipline. At the International Odissi Dance Festival 2023 in Bhubaneswar, his duet shimmered with live music’s resonance, a dialogue of rhythm and grace.

His solo journey has touched many revered platforms — from Nritya Ragini International Dance Festival to International Museum Day and Parampara Festival and many more like — each performance a testament to his lyrical command of Odissi’s sculptural beauty.

With Kalpodip, Rahul’s ensemble work has carried him across India, from Ayodhya’s Ramayani Conclave, IIDF- Hyderabad, Uday Shankar Dance Festival 2017, Kalpodip Festival -Jalpaiguri ( 2012–2022), Wildlife North Bengal Film Festival, Nritya Mela Festival, Kolkata ICCR and to Gujarat’s Girnar Mahotsab, from Kolkata’s Shrdhyanjali Festival to Assam’s Nrityakarnika.
