A NEW ART FORM – ‘I CALL IT TERMITE ART’ .
Most of my recent works are based on this art form.
‘Provocation of Decay’ is the main theme of all these works. Human beings are foremost in all things among living things. He can think, imagine, and make ideas. Men made huge historical towers, structures and monuments throughout the world. Termites are tiny creatures. They live in clusters consisting of lakh of such creatures. As men make huge structures with his technological ideas, termites also make big towers using mud and sand. Like the ‘Provocation of Decay’ principle they make structures by devastating well maintained walls, roofs and stem and roots of big trees. Even though they destroy things, they live behind beautiful aesthetic art form – ‘the Termite Art’.
Artists are highly influenced by Natural Calamities like Flood, Draught, Thunder, Whirlpools, Landslides, Sea erosion etc.
The historical ‘Tsunami’ disaster was a noted example. The complete artists, throughout the world wept out on this tragedy and they expressed their sorrow and sympathy by making paintings.
Just like this, the artist sees the pandemic COVID-19 also a devastating wide spread disease throughout the world. Highly microscopic Coronavirus is the cause for this universal disease. Even though small in size they can spread over the whole universe escaping from human scientific inventions.

R.S. BABU is a famous artist, residing at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and now working on various art projects. He has received many awards including Viswakarma Keerthi Puraskar 2017, Kerala Khadi Prachara Sabha Award 2018 and Gandhi Global Foundation Award.
He has participated in many camps and exhibitions in India and abroad.
