PRAJNA INTERNATIONAL AWARD 2024: HONORING MUSICAL EXCELLENCE
The Tapas Kumar Pal Academy of Music proudly announces the recipients of the prestigious “Prajna International Award” for 2024. This award celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of music.
The honored recipients are:
PANDIT DR. ACHYUT RAM BHANDARI – A renowned tabla player and writer from Kathmandu, Nepal.
PANDIT KANAI LAL BHATTACHARYYA – A veteran tabla player celebrated for his exceptional skills.
KHODABOX FAKIR – A Dervish, Fakir, Sadhak, and Guru known for his divine musical abilities.
VIDUSHI SULAYA BANERJEE – A gifted violinist and the most senior student of Padma Bhushan Pandit V.G. Jog.
PANDIT ASHOK KUMAR SENGUPTA – A talented guitarist with a remarkable career.
This event promises to be a celebration of musical excellence and a tribute to the enduring spirit of these extraordinary artists.
The Award ceremony will take place at Niranjan Sadan, Kolkata on 5th January 2025 at 5. 00 PM.
The evening will mark the inauguration of a special postage stamp in honor of Padma Bhushan Pandit V.G. Jog, followed by the release of a book titled “Recherché Composition of North Indian Violin,” compiled and edited by Tapas Kumar Pal.
The cultural event will also feature a Mega Guest performance by renowned musicians Khodabox Fakir and Pandit Kanai Lal Bhattacharyya, culminating in a grand violin orchestra conducted by Tapas Kumar Pal himself.
