Parannu Pokunna Vadaka Veetukal (The Flying Rented Houses), written by the young and gifted poet Kanimozhi T, is more than just a book—it is a journey through memory, imagination and the fragile beauty of life’s impermanence. Published by Print House Publications, Thrissur, this anthology of twenty‑four poems is brought to life with evocative illustrations by Sacheendran Karadukka and a striking cover design by Shri. Bineesh K. Purakkal, making it as visually compelling as it is lyrically profound.

Kanimozhi’s verses rise like delicate homes caught in the wind—anchored in memory, yet restless for flight. Each poem transforms the everyday experience of shifting rented houses into metaphors of longing, belonging and resilience. Renowned writer M.R. Renukumar has praised the work by recalling his own memories of moving between homes, while celebrated novelist V.R. Sudheesh has highlighted the extraordinary brilliance of Kanimozhi’s poetic vision.

The anthology spans cultures and histories, with poems on Magdala Mariyam, Nirbhaya, tributes to Frida Kahlo, and meditations on Mahsa Amini—voices and stories that resonate deeply with today’s generation. Many of these works first appeared in leading literary journals such as Mathrubhumi, Kalakaumudi, Grihalakshmi, and Eureka Magazine, marking Kanimozhi as one of the most promising voices in contemporary poetry.

Renowned poet Suja M.R. beautifully captures the essence of Kanimozhi’s style, noting how her poems “do not shout—they breathe.” They carry the scent of earth, the ache of longing, and the shimmer of imagination. 

From her school corridors in Kerala, Kanimozhi began her literary voyage, and her talent has already been recognized with prestigious awards including the Deshabhimani Aksharamuttam Kavithapuraskaram, Kadathanat Madhavi Amma Kavithapuraskaram, Pulari Kavithapuraskaram, and the Ma Literature Kavithapuraskaram. Her recent honor, the Anil Panachooran Kavithapuraskaram, further affirms her place among Kerala’s most promising young voices.

Balancing her poetic brilliance with academic life as a Plus Two student at Kozhikode University Campus School, Kanimozhi embodies the spirit of the new generation—dreams rising like morning mist, verses carrying both fragility and strength.

പ്രസിദ്ധ യുവ കവയിത്രി സുജ എം. ആർ  കനിമൊഴിയുടെ കവിതാ സമാഹാരത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് എഴുതുന്നു: 

കനിമൊഴിയുടെ കവിതകൾ, പറന്നുപോകുന്ന വാടക വീടുകൾ എന്ന പുസ്തകപ്പേരോടെ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.. 

“ഉടലിൻ്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയം”  അതിമനോഹരമായി കൊരുത്തിട്ട  വരികൾ ഒന്നുകൂടി വായിച്ചപ്പോഴാണ് ഈ കവിതയും ആ പേരിനോട് നീതി പുലർത്തുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്ന് ഒട്ടൊരു അതിശയത്തോടെ മനസിലോർത്തത്.

“മതിലിനപ്പുറത്തെ  /   തീരാത്ത ഓർമ്മകളുമായി    /     മറ്റൊരു വാടകവീട്ടിലേക്ക്     /     ഇന്നു  ഞാൻ   പറന്നുപോകുന്നു.” എന്നെഴുതുമ്പോൾ കവിത, അവനവനിടം അന്യമായ മനുഷ്യരുടെ വ്യഥകളിലേക്ക് സ്വയം പറിച്ചു നടുന്നു. പ്രായത്തിനപ്പുറത്തെ പ്രസരിപ്പും വൈവിധ്യവും ആവോളമുണ്ട് ഈ കവിതകളിൽ. ഇരുപത്തിനാല് കവിതകൾ! 

ഇരുപത്തിനാല് കവിതകളും ഇരുപത്തിനാല് വാദമുഖങ്ങളാണ്. നേരിൻ്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയം, ഉടലിൻ്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയം, സ്ത്രീപക്ഷ രാഷ്ട്രീയം, സുഖവാസത്തിൻ്റെയും കൂട്ടായ്മയുടെയും ഓർമ്മകളുടെ കനൽ, ജീവിതത്തിൻ്റെ നിസാരതക്കുമുന്നിലെ ജീവൻ്റെ നിസഹായത… എത്ര നേർമ്മയോടെയാണ് ഈ പെൺകുട്ടിക്ക് ചിന്തിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നതെന്ന് വായനക്കാരെ അത്ഭുതപ്പെടുത്താൻ കഴിവുള്ള കവിതകൾ.   

“സ്വപ്നങ്ങളുടെ   /     വയലുകളിൽ      /       പന്നികളോടി നടക്കുമ്പോൾ      /    അമ്മമാരാരും ഉറങ്ങാറില്ല”  എന്ന് വായിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഏത് സ്ത്രീയുടെയും നെഞ്ചിൽ ഒരു തിക്കുമുട്ടൽ അനുഭവപ്പെടും. 

“തണുത്ത ഇരുമ്പുതുടൽ     /     കഴുത്തിൽ  / വീണപ്പോൾ    /     നിർജല നേത്രങ്ങൾ / മുറുക്കിയടച്ച്    /      ബാക്കിവന്ന     /    വിത്തുകൾ       /    കയ്യിൽ     /    ചുരുട്ടിപ്പിടിച്ച്    /      കരിപടർന്ന      /     ശ്മശാന ഭൂമിയിലേക്ക്      /  ഞാൻ  / ഇഴഞ്ഞു നീങ്ങി.”    

തികഞ്ഞ രാഷ്ട്രീയ ബോധം പ്രതിഫലിപ്പിക്കുന്ന കവി, സ്റ്റാൻ സ്വാമി നേരിട്ട നീതിനിഷേധങ്ങളെ തുറന്നുകാട്ടുന്നു. നരക വധു എന്ന കവിത ഒരു ലൈംഗിക വിനോദോപാധിയായി മാത്രം സമൂഹം നോക്കിക്കാണുന്ന, നിസഹായമായ സ്ത്രീത്വത്തെ വരച്ചിടുന്നുണ്ട്. മഹ്സ അമിനിയും, ചാപ്ലിൻ്റെ മീശയും, നരോദത്തെരുവും, ഇന്ത്യൻ ഹിറ്റ്ലറും, സബർമതി എക്സ്പ്രസുമെല്ലാം കവിയുടെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ താൽപര്യങ്ങളുടെ തുറന്ന പ്രഖ്യാപനങ്ങളിലൂടെ കവിതയിലേക്ക് പ്രതിഷ്ഠിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.

കടലമ്മ(അച്ഛമ്മ)എന്ന കവിത, പെൺജീവിതത്തിൻ്റെ മാറ്റമില്ലാത്ത നൈരന്തര്യങ്ങൾക്ക് കടലമ്മ(അച്ഛമ്മ)എന്ന് പേരിട്ട്, അനുവാചകരുടെ നേർക്ക് ഒരു കണ്ണാടിയാക്കിപ്പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.    

നിർഭയ എന്ന ശക്തമായ പെൺപക്ഷ കവിതയുടെ വരികളിലൂടെ ഇരയാക്കപ്പെട്ട പെൺകുട്ടിയുടെ നേർച്ചിത്രം വരച്ചിടുന്നുണ്ട് കവി. ഇരുട്ടു മാത്രം പ്രസരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന സദാചാരത്തിൻ്റെ കാവൽ വിളക്കുകാലുകളെ മറികടന്ന് മുന്നോട്ട് നടന്നുപോകാൻ ഈ ജനതക്ക് കഴിയട്ടെ എന്ന് ആശിക്കുന്ന, അതിനു വേണ്ടി നിലകൊള്ളുന്ന മനുഷ്യരിലാണ് കാലം അതിൻ്റെ പ്രതീക്ഷകൾ കാത്തുവെക്കുന്നത്. കാലമേറെ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടും ഇനിയൊരു നിർഭയ ഉണ്ടാവാതിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്ന് നെഞ്ചുരുകുന്നുണ്ട് ഇപ്പോഴും. ചരിത്രത്തെ തമസ്കരിക്കുന്നവരുടെ, നിർഭയകളെ സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നവരുടെ,  അത്തരം നീചകൃത്യങ്ങളെ നോർമലൈസ് ചെയ്യുന്നവരുടെ കാട്ടാളക്കൂട്ടങ്ങളെ ഇനിയും തുരത്തിയോടിക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ട് എന്നതിനാൽത്തന്നെ ഇത്തരം  പ്രതിരോധത്തിന് പ്രസക്തിയേറിയ ഒരു കാലത്താണ്  നമ്മൾ ഇന്നും ജീവിക്കുന്നത്.
