On 26 May 2026, the Bangiya Sanskritik Sammilani, Sector 35C, Chandigarh, will resonate with the timeless spirit of Kazi Nazrul Islam, the fiery poet whose verses ignited hearts with unity and compassion.
The evening unfolds at 7 PM, marking Nazrul Jayanti — a tribute to the revolutionary bard who sang of freedom, equality and the indomitable dignity of humankind.
The celebration, themed “Sabar Upore Manush” — Humanity Above All — embraces Nazrul’s immortal words, “Sabar upore manush sotto, tahar upore nai.”
Through poetry, quiz and musical performances, the event bridges generations, inviting children and adults alike to rediscover the poet’s universal message.
Highlights include Chotoder Dukhumiya – Kabita O Quize, a creative segment for young minds, and Geeti Aalekho – Sabar Upore Manush, a musical homage that weaves Nazrul’s melodies into the cultural fabric of Chandigarh.
