NATION PAYS TRIBUTES TO GENERAL BIPIN RAWAT /

The nation paid tributes to Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat and 12 others who died in a helicopter crash near Coonoor, Tamil Nadu.

“General Rawat brought with him a rich experience of serving in the Army. India will never forget his exceptional service.  Gen Bipin Rawat was an outstanding soldier. 

A true patriot, he greatly contributed to modernizing our armed forces and security apparatus. His insights and perspectives on strategic matters were exceptional.  His passing away has saddened me deeply. Om Shanti,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the great soldier and patriot of our nation.

In the Parliament, the Defence Minister made a statement on the crash and paid tributes to the deceased.
