MUTE/UNMUTE – Group Exhibition of paintings of 9 talented artists across the country is now on show at Method Kala Ghoda Gallery from 20 April 2024 till 26 May 2024 at Mumbai.

“I am doing nothing to create the visual; the visual lies within the automatic process. No rules, no instructions. They simply come together and emerge as a complete visual,” says Pulak K Sarkar, renowned artist, Faculty of Visual Arts, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Pulak K Sarkar studied BFA in Painting from Rabindra Bharati University and now he is furthering his studies in Painting at Banaras Hindu University, where he has been awarded the prestigious ICCR fellowship.

Renowned Printmaker and artist Dr. Nilanjan Das completed his BFA, MFA and Ph.D in Printmaking from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata and presently working as an assistant professor in the Department of Printmaking at Utkal University of Culture, Bhubaneswar. He has received many awards and participated in many exhibitions in India and abroad. 

 Artist Satyanarayana Gavara studied BFA in Printmaking from Andhra University and MFA in Printmaking from M S University of Baroda in 2020. Satyanarayana has participated in many exhibitions in India and abroad; won several awards, including the 1st Print Biennale India Grand Prize Award from Lalitkala Akademi, New Delhi and Birla Academy award (2022).

Renowned artist Samiran Dey from Kolkata portrays exquisite imagery of Kolkata’s socio-political intricacies, capturing the shifting landscape and fading memories in his art works. He studied Sanskrit and Fine Arts, completed masters from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata.

Shweta Urane is a multidisciplinary artist, working with various media including etching, lithography, collagraph, woodcut, creative drawing and painting.  She has completed Masters in Fine Art from Sir J J School of Art, Mumbai.

“I try to show my subject in a simplified manner as I think that art is inherent in humans’ collective consciousness; it doesn’t need a language to define it,” says renowned Artist Harsh Kumar who works across various mediums such as Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking, Photography, Installation, Performance art and Videography. His works have been showcased in the Kochi Biennale and Lalit Kala Akademy.

Sandeep Parmar from Rajasthan studied Post Diploma in printmaking in 2022 from M.S University Baroda. He incorporates miniatures into his printmaking process utilising etching, lithography and woodcuts.

Artist Anikesa Dhing from Udaipur graduated from MS University, Baroda with an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in Fine Arts. Anikesa Dhing uses vibrant colours and lines to portray vivid visual imagery in her works.

Artist Kritika Goel from New Delhi studied MFA in Painting from Amity University, Noida. She has exhibited at Artbuzz Studios parallel to the India Art Fair and participated in the Group Show, ‘Ode to the Sun’ at Stainless Gallery, New Delhi in 2024.

“The show emerges as an exploration of the present and the absent, and how that defines perception and anticipation,” says the organisers of the Show.
