“My paintings in this exhibition are inspired by the temple murals of Tamilnadu, the earliest of which are thousand years old. My contemporary works are also based on ancient sculptures and architecture and hence I was easily drawn to them and the artistic spirit that informs them. These murals were painted with natural pigments, ready to hand and thus have a limited colour pallet,” says renowned artist Gita Hudson.

Known for her abstracts and paintings inspired by Indian murals, Gita Hudson conducted more than 20 Solo exhibitions and 50 group exhibitions. She has been part of many art seminars and art camps in India and abroad including in London, South Africa, South Korea and at the Gandhi Memorial Centre in Washington DC.

Gita Hudson believes filmmaking as an extension of fine arts and documented many famed contemporary Indian artists, her documentaries screened widely in India and internationally at Gandhi Centre, Washington DC; British Council, London and in many film festivals.
