MODULAR ORIGAMI – a Workshop by ABHIPSA BHATNAGAR at TASMAI, A CENTRE FOR ART & CULTURE, PONDICHERRY

ABHIPSA BHATNAGAR, a visual artist conducts a workshop on Origami – an art of paper folding often associated with Japanese culture.

The word ‘Oru’ is to fold and ‘Kami’ means paper.

Modern practitioners are using Origami not just as a craft for teaching but using this in packaging in the commercial industries.

Let’s do Geometrical shapes in Origami with multiple papers too, without gluing it.

With multiple papers, beautiful decorations with 3D shapes and more wonderful models can be made.

Abhipsa Bhatnagar is a visual artist and she is working as an art teacher and a freelance illustrator for Children’s books based in Delhi.

She also conducts Origami Workshops for children, adults and students of Architectural Colleges.

Abhipsa Bhatnagar studied BVA from Bharathiar Palkalaikoodam College, Pondicherry.

Two children’s Sanskrit books which received Bal Parishad award were illustrated by Abhipsa Bhatnagar.

She is very passionate about this beautiful Japanese art and happy to share this art form with all.
