MODI 3.0 CABINET
30 CABINET MINISTERS, 5 MOS WITH INDEPENDENT CHARGE AND 36 MOS MINISTERS TOOK CHARGE TODAY
Prime Minister Narendra Modi allocated portfolios to the newly formed Union Council of Ministers, keeping key ministries with BJP, sent out a clear message that policies and plans of the previous Modi 2.0 will continue in the governance.
Rajnath Singh has been retained as Defence Minister, Amit Shah as Home Minister and Cooperation Minister, Dr. S Jaisankar as External Affairs Minister, Nitin Gadkari as Road Transport and Highways Minister and Nirmala Sitharaman will continue as Finance Minister. Piyush Goyal has retained the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Dharmendra Pradhan will be the Education Minister. BJP President J.P Nadda whose extended term will be over this month was inducted as a cabinet minister of Health and Chemicals & Fertilizers.
Ashwini Vaishnaw will keep the Information & Broadcasting and Electronics & Information Technology along with Railways. The other leaders who have received their erstwhile portfolios include Hardeep Singh Puri (Petroleum & Natural Gas), C.R Patil (Jal Shakti), Bhupender Yadav (Environment, Forest & Climate Change) and Virendra Kumar Khatik (Social Justice & Empowerment). However Jyotiraditya Scindia will be the Minister of Telecommunication instead of Civil Aviation.
List of 71 Council of Ministers of the newly formed Cabinet, of these 30 were Cabinet Ministers, 5 were MoS with independent charge and 36 were MoS Ministers along with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was released yesterday. Prime Minister has retained the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, the Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space.
