Manasa: A Dance Tribute to the Serpent Goddess at Sanskriti 2025
In the heart of Kolkata, the stage at Uttam Mancha will come alive on 16th November 2025 @ 6 PM onwards, with Manasa: The Rise of the Serpent Queen– a spellbinding dance production that blends myth, movement and memory.
Presented by Nrityam Odissi Dance Centre, Kolkata, as part of Sanskriti 2025, this performance marks 12 years of artistic excellence. Directed by Ms. Neeladyuti Chaudhury, director & Principal, Nrityam Odissi Dance Centre and conceptualized by Smt. Lipi Chaudhuri, President, Nrityam Odissi Dance Centre, the show dives deep into the legend of Goddess Manasa—protector, rebel and divine force of nature.
This year, the stage will sparkle with the energy of over 100 young dancers as they bring the timeless elegance of Odissi to life. From the gentle devotion of junior performers to the vibrant cultural showcase by intermediate artists, each step will speak of tradition and joy.
The evening will also honour excellence, with guest felicitation and prize distribution for the proud rank-holders of 2024–25. And as the grand finale, the spellbinding production “Manasa – The Rise of the Serpent Queen” will unfold—a powerful tale told through rhythm, grace and myth.
