GURU SHISHYA SANMAN: A CELEBRATION OF INDIA’S CULTURAL HERITAGE
On 14th and 15th September 2024, Debadhara Delhi, a pioneering organization dedicated to promoting Odissi dance, supported by LIC and Punjab National Bank, will host “Guru Shishya Sanman,” a two-day festival celebrating the rich cultural heritage of India. The event will take place at Triveni Kala Sangam, Mandi House, New Delhi, starting at 6:30 PM
This year marks the 21st anniversary of Debadhara Delhi, founded by Dr. Binayak Panda in 2003. Over the years, the organization has successfully organized 35 festivals of Indian dance and music, both in India and abroad. “Guru Shishya Sanman” is a tribute to the timeless tradition of guru-shishya parampara, honoring the sacred bond between teachers and disciples.
The festival will feature performances by renowned artists and students of Debadhara, showcasing the unique style of the late Guru Debaprasad Das and the synthetic gharana of Odissi dance. The event promises to be an unforgettable experience, highlighting the beauty and diversity of Indian classical dance and music.
