Gaudiya Nritya Workshop 2025 — A Resonant Celebration of Classical Dance in Gobardanga
On the 27th and 28th of August 2025, the serene grounds of Srijoni in Babupada, Gobardanga, 24 Parganas, West Bengal witnessed a vibrant confluence of tradition and artistry during the Two-Day State-Level Gaudiya Nritya Workshop.
Organized by Sanskar Bharati Paschim Banga, Eastern Cultural Centre, under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, the event brought together passionate dancers and cultural enthusiasts for an immersive exploration of Bengal’s classical dance heritage.
Led by the acclaimed Gaudiya Nritya exponent Dr. Mahua Mukhopadhyay, the workshop unfolded over two enriching afternoons, offering participants a rare opportunity to delve into the expressive nuances and spiritual depth of Gaudiya Nritya.
Amid the rhythmic echoes of Gaudiya Nritya, the Two-Day State-Level Workshop welcomed 49 passionate students into a space of disciplined grace and cultural immersion.
With the expert guidance of Dr. Mahua Mukhopadhyay, and the dedicated assistance of Sayantika Majumdar and Jayanta Biswas, the sessions unfolded with precision and warmth. Adding a resonant layer to the experience was the vocal accompaniment of the renowned Pandit Amitava Mukherjee, whose presence elevated the workshop’s emotive depth.
