Gaudiya Nritya Shines at Guru Govindan Kutty Dance Festival 2025

The Sarba Bharatiya Sangit O Sanskriti Parishad hosted the three-day Guru Govindan Kutty Classical Dance Festival at the historic Jorasanko Thakurbari – Rathindra Mancha, a venue steeped in Bengal’s cultural renaissance.

On 17th November 2025, the festival witnessed a rare and soulful offering by Gaudiya Nrityabharati, Kolkata. Guided by the visionary Dr. Mahua Mukherjee, the troupe brought alive a tradition that blends ancient wisdom with modern grace.

Among the highlights was Gaudiya Nritya, unfolding as a tapestry of devotion and artistry.

Ardhanarishvar, performed by Ayan Mukherjee , son of Dr. Mahua Mukherjee and Dr. Satabdi Acharya, niece in law of Dr. Mahua Mukherjee, embodied the eternal harmony of Shiva and Shakti.

Shivashtakam, brought alive by Dr. Satabdi Acharya, Dr. Paromita Banerjee, Dipika Ray, Sridip Karmakar, and Samaypan Sengupta, flowed with rhythm and reverence.

The music ensemble deepened the spirit of the dance—

  • Pandit Amitava Mukherjee’s vocals carried the resonance of tradition.
  • Ayan Mukherjee’s sitar and flute enriched the atmosphere with lyrical notes.
  • Shubhodip Chakraborti’s violin added a final touch of soulful harmony.
  • Percussion: Dipak Patra & Bablu biswas
  • Choreograph & Direction: Prof. Dr. Mahua Mukherjee
