GATI SHAKTI LAUNCHED
An innovative national master plan was launched on 13 October 2021 for multi modal connectivity to boost the economy.
The 100 lakh crore project aims at the development of infrastructure to reduce logistic costs, increase cargo handling capacity and reduce the turnaround time.
“The Plan aims to lend more power and speed to projects by connecting all concerned departments on one platform, the infrastructure schemes will be designed and executed with a common vision,” inaugurating the National Master Plan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.
Gati Shakti will coordinate sixteen central government departments including Railways, Aviation, Road transports, Shipping, Petroleum and Gas, Power, Telecom and will boost investments in the country.
Gati Shakti will coordinate different infrastructure schemes like Bharatmala, Sagarmala, UDAN, inland waterways and Ports.
The Plan envisages to utilise modern technology and the latest IT tools for coordinating different departments that will lead to optimum utilisation of resources.
