GATI 2024 – ANNUAL CONCERT OF NRITYA MALANCHA, SILIGURI
Gati 2024 – Annual concert of Nritya Malancha, Siliguri, marking the celebrations of its 40th year on 30th October this year, was held on 25th and 26th May 2024 at Dinabandhu Mancha, Siliguri.
Pure classical dance repertoires of Kathak and Bharatnatyam, along with semi classical, folk and creative dance performances by the students of Nritya Malancha were the attractions of the two days celebrations.
Dance Productions – Navarasa through the eyes of Ramayana, a Kathak dance drama in which the nine sentiments described in the Natya Shastra were depicted through the stories of Ramayana and Dashavatar, and Bharatanatyam recital describing the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu were also presented.
Renowned Kathak artist Sri Ashimbandhu Bhattacharya from Kolkata, renowned Odissi artist Dr. Pompi Paul, Srimati Nandini Chakraborty and Sri Anish Koley graced the grand celebrations as Guests of Honour.
The renowned musicians who added grandeur to this concert were Subir Thakur, Subir Adhikari, Sandeep Neogi, Sunando Mukherjee, Supriyo Banerjee, Sourav Chakraborty and Bulbul Bose.
Commemorating this joyous occasion of their 40th anniversary, three generations of students of Smt. Sangita Chaki, Founder and Principal of Nritya Malancha, Siliguri performed two different recitals in Kathak and Bharatnatyam and mesmerised the audience.
