G7 MEET

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoped  in the G7 Meet that the rich nations will support India’s efforts in combating climate change and invited them to explore the huge market for clean energy technologies emerging in India.

G7 countries can invest in research, innovation and manufacturing, the Prime Minister added.

“I called for a movement called LIFE – Lifestyle for Environment in Glasgow last year. This year on World Environment Day, we launched the Global initiative for LIFE campaign to encourage an eco-friendly lifestyle,” he said at the G7 Summit in Elmau, Germany on 27 June 2022.

“We can call the followers of this movement Triple-P, that is ‘Pro Planet People’, and we should all take the responsibility of increasing the number of Triple-P people in our countries. This will be our greatest contribution to the coming generations”.

 The Prime Minister was received with a warm welcome upon his arrival in Germany.

The Prime Minister met German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on the sidelines of the G-7 Summit and emphasised the need to take forward their Green and Sustainable Development Partnership and decided to deepen trade, investment and people to people ties. Discussions were held between Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, President of the European Commission Ursula Von Der Leyen and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
