FREEHAND MOTIFS & SOUTH INDIAN TEXTILES ON MINIATURE CANVAS

TASMAI, Pondicherry conducts a workshop by the renowned artist K. G. Narendra Babu on Freehand Motifs and South Indian Textiles on Miniature Canvas on 8 January 2023 (4.00 PM – 5.30 PM) followed by a film titled DREAM PAINTING SERIES ON K.G. NARENDRA BABU.
The famous artist K.G. Narendra Babu will give an introduction on how inspiration for motifs are drawn from traditional iconography, and demonstrate how to do sketches of motifs, patterns and designs inspired by traditional and modern textile industries in India.There will be a screening on the artist K.G. Narendra Babu followed by an interactive session on textile printing, design and other process in weaving of garments, sarees and other textiles.
Artist K.G. Narendra Babu has been associated with the Weaver’s Centre, Ministry of Textiles, Chennai and travelled extensively throughout the country. He has studied Diploma and Post Diploma in Painting from Government College of Arts and Crafts, Chennai. He has conducted many solo and group exhibitions all over India and abroad including Korea & India Exchange Exhibition – Oct 2019, 2ndInternational Art Exhibition in Chang Kil-Hwan Art Museum (Korea), Korea & India – Come Together in Pyeongchang – Oct 202, Jinbu Culture and Art creation studio and Red Dreams Blue -Ri Ji Art Studio Gangneung – Dec 2022 in Korea. Renowned artist K.G. Narendra Babu is the recipient of many prestigious awards.
