EXHIBITION OF PHOTOGRAPHY ON ‘LIFE’
EXHIBITION OF PHOTOGRAPHY ON “LIFE” by renowned artist R. Rajendran was inaugurated on Sunday, 14 April 2024 at Palmyra, Auro Brindavan, Auroville, Pondicherry.
The exhibition, a tribute to the eminent Indian artist Dr. M. SIRPI JAYARAMAN, former Principal, Bharathiyar Palkalaikoodam, Puducherry on his 70th Birth Anniversary is on show and will continue till 30 April 2024 (10.00 AM to 12.00 Noon & 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM).
Renowned artist Juergen Puetz, Director, Palmyra, Auroville presided the function and Shri. V. KALIAPERUMAL,Director, Art & Culture Department , Government of Puducherry graced the function as Chief Guest. Many dignitaries and renowned artists attended the Inaugural function.
Dr. M. Sirpi Jayaraman, renowned Internationally acclaimed Sculptor, artist, music composer, poet, teacher and social thinker won many awards including Art Achiever Award, Sigaram, Kalai Mamani and best Educationist awards of State and Central Government of India. He was honoured by the UNESCO as sculptor and displayed his artwork of 40 Kg Granite sculpture at the Cultural Complex, University of Pondicherry. He also published 10 books on fine arts, poetry and history. He worked as an artist at Jipmer and later joined as principal, School of Arts & Crafts Bharathiar Palkalaikoodam, Pondicherry.
Artist R. Rajendran has conducted innumerable social cause programmes including SAVE NATURE – International Day for the Preservation of Ozone Layer on 16 September 2014; MY DREAM MY INDIA- National Youth Day, 12 January 2014; Assist World Records conducted with Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Tamil Nadu, in the title ‘Most Number of Sensational Awareness in Short Time’ with 2015 students on 4 January 2015; CLIMATE CHANGE AND CLEAN INDIA campaign of ‘366 days Largest Painting Exhibition’ in 2016; MAKE YOUR MARK 2020 TO EXPLORE THE TALENT IN YOU in 2017; Assist World Records Launched the 5 Years Book of ‘Assist World Records – 2017’ at the Inaugural of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s memorial on 27 July 2017 at Rameshwaram; 150 World Records Photographs Exhibition (awakening to Zeal) at Exhibition House, Sri Aurobindo Ashram Art Gallery, Puducherry and many more painting campaigns for spreading social messages.
