EXHIBITION OF PAINTINGS AND GAUDIA NRITYA AT CHITRAKOOT ART GALLERY, KOLKATA

Chitrakoot Art Gallery, Kolkata presents an exhibition of paintings by renowned artist Dipankar Mani from 12 January 2023 till 15 January 2023.

The eminent artist Prof. Dr. Mahua Mukherjee, Rabindra Bharati University inaugurated the Exhibition.  

Classical dance, Gaudia Nritya was also performed by Monikiran Dattagupta, classical dancer and choreographer after the inaugural function. The Classical dance, Gaudia Nritya was based on Shakti cult and choreographed by Prof. Dr. Mahua Mukherjee and music by Pandit. Amitabha Mukherjee. It is uniquely well written by the renowned artist Bhabapritananda Ojha, based on 34 names of the Goddess alphabetically, which is a very rare one.

Monikiran Dattagupta, Classical dancer and Choreographer is an art enthusiast since her childhood and spent years training with the renowned artist, Dr. Arka Dev Battacharya. She has taken up the Classical dance form, Gaudiya Nritya under the tutelage of renowned artist Prof. Dr. Mahua Mukherjee and Pandit Amitava Mukherjee.  She studied Rabindra Sangeet and Hindustani Classical music also.

She received many awards including Senior National Scholarship in Gaudiya Nritya, Ministry of Culture, Government of India;  Awarded Grade A artist by Pratibha Chayan, EZCC, Ministry of Culture ; 2nd place in Rajya Yuba Competition, dept. of Youth services, Government of West Bengal and1st place in Apurva Kala Vithika, Purvai in 2016 and 2017.

She has performed at Shilpakala Academy by invitation received from the Indian Embassy in Dhaka and Rajshahi, Bangladesh. She has also performed at Dover Lane Music Conference, Ganga Sanskriti Yatra by EZCC. Presidency University, Bankura University, NIT Agartala, WBUTTEPA, Zee Bangla, Victoria Memorial, Indian Museum and Iskcon Kolkata Rath Yatra Utsav in 2022 and judged the Sarbabharatiya Sangeet O Sanskriti Parishad’s Talent Search Competition, Techno India Bhatnagar’s Competition.

Artist Monikiran Dattagupta is a research scholar at Lovely Professional University, Punjab in Geomorphology.
