“Dahlia Aggarwal’s artworks incorporate the study of spiritual meanings of shapes. Art and spirituality have always had a close relationship. Sacred geometry espouses the idea that everything is connected and that patterns are prevalent everywhere in nature. The use of such patterns in art goes back to at least 4,000 years and it was believed such forms helped connect people to the transcendent and eternal realm. Dahlia’s artistic expressions also build on the relationship between spirituality and healing,” says Jitendra Padam Jain, Curator of the show and artist of international acclaim.
Dahlia Aggarwal is a trained digital designer with interest in mathematics and analogues. Dahlia works with acrylic on canvas. She believes that ‘design is a result of a series of iterations that are refined through intensive critique.’ “Between the black and white, there is a grey area. This is where the abstract meets concrete, intention meets accident, and illusion meets reality,” says the artist.
“Her works are a fusion of mystery and calm with a powerful effect on the human consciousness. Circles represent a never-ending loop, symbolic of oneness. Triangles symbolize balance and harmony between the mind, the body, and the spirit. Squares represent solid foundations. The spiral is thought of as the physical manifestation of energy flows,” Jitendra Padam Jain, eminent artist specifically mentions about the artist’s spiritual approach to her abstract work.
Gallery Sree Arts, a Delhi-NCR based art gallery was established in 2006 with an idea to create a space for promoting artists taking them to a stage both national and global by organising exhibitions, art camps as well as artist-in-residences.
