ENGAGING BOOK DISCUSSION ON “ZAIRA” BY PROFESSOR VINITA DHONDIYAL BHATNAGAR
The iconic Oxford Bookstore in Connaught Place, New Delhi buzzed with excitement. Following the Launch of the Book, ‘Zaira’, authored by the esteemed Professor Vinita Dhondiyal Bhatnagar, a lively and insightful discussion was held.
The event was graced by Professor Bhatnagar’s mentor, the renowned Professor Malashri Lal, whose presence added a touch of warmth and wisdom.
Among the distinguished guests was Brigadier Sanjay Agarwal, former Security Advisor at the Ministry of Home Affairs, known for his sharp intellect and nuanced perspectives.
“Zaira,” meaning “a shining flower,” is a poignant tale of a college girl named Zaira, who grapples with the overwhelming guilt of her idol’s untimely death. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Bhopal, the novel weaves themes of hope, resilience, and courage into its narrative, offering readers a beacon of inspiration and strength.
Following the launch, a lively and insightful discussion ensued. Brigadier Sanjay Agarwal offered a nuanced literary critique, delving into the novel’s exploration of friendship, romance, ambition and glamour.
The event also witnessed active engagement from a diverse audience. Kaneez Zehra Razavi from Bhopal highlighted the importance of dialogues, while Kasturi Kanthan praised the novel’s fast-paced storyline and sharp characterizations. Pravin Dubey expressed hope for a Hindi translation of “Zaira.”
