Enchanting Evening of Sitar and Tabla at Shimla’s Gaiety Theatre
On 10 May 2026, the historic Gaiety Theatre Hall in Shimla became a sanctum of melody and rhythm, as the Tabla Association Himachal Pradesh presented an enchanting evening of classical music.
Held under the gracious patronage of Shri Suresh Bhardwaj, Former Urban Development Minister, and Prof. Mahavir Singh, Vice Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University, the concert celebrated the timeless grandeur of India’s musical heritage.
The stage was illuminated by the soulful artistry of Sitar maestro Pandit Subrata De and the intricate brilliance of Tabla virtuoso Pandit Siddhartha Chatterjee, whose performance enthralled the audience with its seamless dialogue of strings and percussion. Adding to the evening’s charm were the captivating recitals by the talented students of Pandit Kashmiri Lal Ji, founder of the association.
