LEARN EMBROIDERY & APPLIQUE/  A workshop by R. KUMUDAVALLI  at TASMAI/ A CENTRE FOR ARTS & CULTURE/ PONDICHERRY /

WEDNESDAY/ 20 July 2022 / 4.00 PM – 5.30 PM/

R. Kumudavalli from Pondicherry conducts a Workshop on Embroidery and Applique, an art of stitching another cloth on the given cloth to create a patch work that can be done on caps, hats, coats, blankets, shirts, denim, dresses, sarees and blouses and anything with creativity.

 Embroidery and the basic techniques of hand embroidery can be very relaxing, lovely and can cultivate a creative habit that can help you fashion which are priceless and refurbish old cloth with a simple creative tool.

Embroidery is the craft of decorating fabric or other materials using a simple needle and thread or yarn which are available in a wide range of colours.

R. Kumudavalli has been doing embroidery at home, catering to personalised orders after she lost her full-time job at Atelier Indira Thaiyal Nilayam which was closed in years back. She has mastered various nuances in embroidery and doing applique also.

She learnt embroidery at the age of 15 from a Center in Mudaliarpet.
