Internationally renowned artists from south India are exhibiting their paintings at Thanal Art Gallery, established by the renowned artist R.S Babu in the capital city, Thiruvananthapuram.
“Most of the exquisite works are figurative in style and the month – long show will definitely inspire all,” says the Curator, Rema Mohandas.
Achuthan Kudallur is a modern and contemporary painter and his work was featured in numerous key galleries and museums. He has received many awards including Lalitkala Academy award and National Academy Award.
Laxman Aelay has conducted national and international exhibitions and he is known for his nostalgic paintings .
Bolgum Nagesh Goud is known for creating striking artworks inspired by the great Indian epics – Mahabharata and Ramayana. He has participated in many exhibitions and artists’ camps all over the world.
Bhaskara Rao Botcha is a Hyderabad-based renowned artist. His leitmotif – “‘The Tree” has remained constant because of his deep and innate bond with trees. He has received many awards.
G Rajendran was a Professor at the College of Fine Arts, Thiruvananthapuram. He creates realistic art that depicts real rural life and has participated in many group and solo exhibitions worldwide.
G Subramanian is widely known for his unique mixed-media works and he uses the medium of collage and layers it along with acrylic paint and ink to create striking artwork.
K.R Santhana Krishnan is known for his vibrant and intriguing paintings. He has conducted many solo shows in India and participated in several group exhibitions in many countries.
Murali Nagapuzha is a modern and contemporary artist. He is the recipient of many prestigious awards.
Priyanka Aelay is a Hyderabad-based artist. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
R Rajkumar Sthabathy is a Pondicherry-based artist who works solely with watercolours, which he considers to be his language of expression.
Ramesh Gojrala focuses on traditional Indian heritage and culture, through sensitive and detailed mythological portrayals of various Indian gods and goddesses.
Sachin Jaltare is a contemporary Indian artist whose mixed media paintings have an intrinsic sense of fluidity, freedom and sensuality.
Sajid Bin Amar explores multiple mediums like woodcut, etching and painting establishing a new technical ground of his own.
Sanjay Ashtaputre lives in Maharashtra. He has done several solo shows in India and abroad. He has experimented with a range of media from canvas and paper to clay.
N.K.P Muthukoya is an eminent artist and has participated in many national and international exhibitions.
