DREAMCATCHER – SOLO SHOW BY RENOWNED ARTIST ROHITENDRA CHANDRA DEB

The Red Bari is delighted to present “Dreamcatcher,” an enchanting exhibition showcasing the extraordinary artistic voyage of Rohitendra Chandra Deb.

The exhibition curated by Anahita Banerjee highlights renowned artist Rohitendra Chandra Deb’s remarkable journey as a lawyer, musician and spiritual seeker, and will be on show from 30 September 204 till 26 November 2024.

“Rohitendra’s artistic journey commenced in 2009, inspired by a spiritual awakening that led him to explore music and art as powerful vehicles for emotive expression. With an academic background in law, literature and music, his creations are intellectually stimulating and emotionally resonant, bridging the material and metaphysical realms. His diverse body of work spans various mediums—including acrylics, oils, mixed media, ceramics, cyanotype, watercolors, oil pastels, gouache, graphite and ink—delving into themes of nature, spirituality, and the human experience,” says the curator Anahita Banerjee.

“Rohitendra’s work embodies simplicity and honesty, engaging with the complexities of modern life while adhering to timeless truths. His art confronts the tension between the human spirit and the accelerating pace of technological change, inviting viewers to reflect on their own inner worlds and connections to the universe,” curator added.

DREAMCATCHER offers a comprehensive view of Rohitendra’s artistic practice through distinct thematic series. The Nature Series celebrates the beauty of the natural world, while the Butterfly Series symbolizes transformation. The Angel Series explores celestial themes, and the Santiniketan Series pays homage to the Bengal Renaissance. The Symmetry Series focuses on balance through geometric forms, and the Inner Eye Series reflects introspection. The Swirls Series evokes dynamic energy, and the Spiritual Abstract Series conveys spiritual themes. Lastly, the Music and Musicians Series celebrates the interplay between visual art and music.

His artworks beautifully weave together these diverse facets, resulting in a vibrant and introspective collection that invites viewers to explore the profound intersections of his multifaceted identity.
