“The tragic period of Covid has shown us that the man who used to pride himself as the strongest creature is very insignificant.
The exhibition shows 40 paintings including 20 art works selected from the series titled “Donkey’s Paradise” and paintings from the series “ Haunting Insight” that I did in watercolour during the tragedy of the Covid epidemic, which closed us within the four walls of the world.
Through my paintings, I try to present the scenery around us at the level of a fantasy, the nature and the events that have deeply touched my mind,” says the renowned artist T. R Udayakumar while presenting his unique art works at the prestigious gallery of Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi.
T.R. Udayakumar has studied in Govt. Raja Ravi Varma College of Fine Arts, Mavelikara, Kerala.
He was a former Executive Committee Member of Kerala Lalithakala Akademi and Co-ordinating Editor of ‘Chithra Vartha Bulletin’, Kerala Lalithakala Akademi Publication (2013 November-2016 May).
T.R Udayakumar has conducted many solo and group exhibitions. He has received many awards including Kerala Lalithakala Akademi State Award (Painting) 2020.
