Diwali Pahat with Ashvini Modak: A Morning of Hindustani Classical Music in Pune

On the radiant morning of 26th October 2025, the C V Raman Auditorium at IISER Pune will come alive with the spirit of Diwali and the elegance of classical music, as renowned Hindustani vocalist Ashvini Modak prepares to enchant audiences with her soulful performance. 

Presented by ICCR Sub-Zonal Office, Pune in collaboration with Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), this Diwali Pahat promises a serene musical sunrise, where Ashvini’s voice will weave timeless ragas into the festive air. She will be accompanied by renowned artists Prashant Pandav on tabla and Leeladhar Chakradev on harmonium, creating a harmonious blend of rhythm and melody.

As the city awakens, this concert will offer a moment of reflection, celebration, and pure musical joy.

Ashvini Modak shines as a rare blend of talent, tradition and intellect in the world of Hindustani classical music. 

A gold medalist from Khairagarh University and a Sangeet Visharad from Gandharv Mandal, Miraj, her journey began at home under the gentle guidance of her mother, Smt. Latika V. Vyaghrambare, and the artistic legacy of her grandfather, P.G. Sukhatme. Trained by sitar maestro Pandit Bimlendu Mukherjee and mentored for over two decades by Padmavibhushan Dr. Prabha Atre, Ashvini’s music reflects depth and devotion. 

As a performer, teacher and researcher, she nurtures students worldwide through her academy and Swarmayee Gurukul, while her recognition by AIR Pune, SPIC MACAY, ICCR and CCRT highlights her enduring contribution to the classical arts.
