CROCHET FOR ALL – WORKSHOP BY SHAMRIN AT TASMAI ON SUNDAY, 26 May 2024 @ 4.00 PM

Shamrin from Puducherry conducts Crochet Workshop, creating beautiful artworks of textiles using loops of yarn, thread or strands of other materials at TASMAI, a Centre for Art & Culture, Puducherry.

Crochet is a craft using a hooked needle to create fabric by interlocking loops of yarn or thread and other materials. The name is derived from the French term crochet meaning ‘small hook’, and it has also become a popular hobby enjoyed by many throughout the world.

“Shamrin started learning fibre arts from middle school and later taught herself crochet through video tutorials. Engaging in these crafts she has started her enterprise and transforms her passion into a more significant aspect of her life,” says the organisers of the workshop.

Shamrin who holds a master’s degree in Anthropology is also a passionate fiber artist skilled in Crochet.
