DANCE FOR THE MIME is a one hour programme of dancing, singing, playing percussion and street animations with non- verbal gesticulations.
DRUPAD GAONKAR, director of Mooladhvani Institute of Movement & Expression (MIME) and founding member of Indian Mime Federation and the professional Mime groups IMIMEGINATION & MAUNAM (Auroville) is a multi-performing artist, two time world record holder and TedX Speaker, amalgamated his knowledge in the field of performing arts, education, IT, advertising and hospitality for more than two and half decades in the silent art form of MIME.
The two world records to his credit are 50 hrs Non- Stop Mime Marathon done by an Individual, on the occasion of Auroville’s 50th Birthday Celebrations and 12hrs 12mins Non-Stop Mime Living Statue depicting Dr. Abdul Kalam, on the 5th Death Anniversary of the 11th President of India.
He is currently trying to create another world record to commemorate Sri. Aurobindo’s 150th Birthday Celebrations by attempting 150 hrs non stop Calligraphy writings of the quotes of great stalwarts including Sri. Aurobindo.
He has participated in various national and international events and has trained students, professionals, teachers and others.
VARSHA ANAND PAWAR is a professional Dancer, Choreographer, Mime & Fine artist, Street Animator and now working as a Research Assistant at Mooladhvani in Movement & Expression . She has participated in various events including stage, street, television and new media. She has associated with many organisations including IMIMEGINATION, a professional performing arts animation group.
Varsha Anand Pawar studied Bachelor of Performing Arts (Bharatnatyam) under the guidance of Padmabhushan Dr. Kanak Rele at Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya.
