Celebrating 25 Years of Dance Legacy at Memari Creation Dance Centre, Bardhaman ( WB)
On the evening of 7th September 2025, the stage at Krishti Auditorium in Memari, West Bengal shimmered with legacy and emotion as Memari Creation Dance Centre marked its 25th anniversary—a milestone woven with devotion, discipline and dance.
Under the inspired leadership of Mrs. Nandita Biswas, a visionary whose passion has shaped generations of performers, the celebration unfolded as a mesmerizing tribute to tradition and artistry.
The evening unfolded as a radiant celebration of the revered Guru-Shishya parampara, showcasing India’s rich cultural tapestry through spellbinding performances of Bharatanatyam, Gaudiya Nritya, Rabindranritya, Folk and Modern dance forms.
The event was graced by the esteemed Prof. Mahua Mukherjee, who delivered an enlightening lecture on the Nataraja concept as envisioned in both South India and Bengal, adding intellectual depth to the artistic grandeur.
The stage came alive under the gaze of luminaries including renowned dancer Mehbub Hasan and maestro Pandit Amitava Mukherjee—whose presence added gravitas to the celebration.
Students of Kaushik Sau paid homage through the ethereal Gaudiya Nritya, weaving Saraswati Vandana and Tagore’s Nataraja Stuti into movements that felt like poetry in motion. Scholarship recipients Koushik, Ayushi Das, Soumi De and others danced with a devotion that transcended technique.
The Bharatanatyam segment was a vibrant burst of youthful brilliance—Kushari Chakraborti’s ‘Natanam Adinar’ and Deepsnata Chatterjee’s Devi Stuti Kirtanam etched divine silhouettes into the air. Sikta Pal, a recipient of a scholarship in Bharatanatyam performed brilliantly along with other talented artists.
Notable demonstrations by Kousik Sau in Gaudiya Nritya and Atanu Das in Bharatanatyam captivated the audience, weaving together tradition and innovation in a seamless rhythm.
This landmark celebration not only honored a legacy of dance but also reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to nurturing classical excellence for generations to come.
