CELEBRATING 150 YEARS OF SRILA PRABHUPADA SARASWATI MAHARAJ: A SPECTACULAR GAUDIYA NRITYA PERFORMANCE IN LONDON

On the evening of 7 September 2024, the Mayfair Venue on High Road, London, was graced with an enchanting performance of Gaudiya Nritya by the talented Ayan Mukherjee. The event- SANATAN SANSKRITI UTSAV, organized by the Gaudiya Mission, UK, was a celebration of the 150th anniversary of Srila Prabhupada Saraswati Maharaj.

The evening began with a captivating lecture by Dr. Mahua Mukherjee, professor of the Department of Dance and former Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Rabindra Bharati University. Alongside her husband, Pandit Amitava Mukherjee, she has significantly contributed to popularizing the ancient dance form of Gaudiya Nritya in the country. Dr. Mahua Mukherjee is also the founder and dance director of the institute Gaudiya Nritya Bharati in Kolkata, and she has authored 15 books in Bengali, 5 books in English, and numerous articles on Gaudiya Nritya.

Earlier, on 31 August 2024, the Gaudiya Mission, UK, organized the celebrations at the Harrow Leisure Centre in London, featuring a vibrant array of Indian cultural programs, including Nagar Sankirtan, seminars, lectures and kirtans.
